On this Thursday afternoon in late April, immediately after spending the morning on Peter's Spring Field Trip, the kids and their Mama set off one of our most anticipated adventures ever: a real train ride to a real place. Even better that it was to visit Nana and Daideo. Even better that we took the metro to get to the train station. The excitement was bubbling over here on the Metro platform.
"Are we there yet?"
We like the metro, but apparently not when all we can think about is the train station.
But here we are looking patient.

No pics in Union Station, where we eventually did arrive, grabbed lunch, and caught our train to Culpeper.
Here are passengers 14 A & B (or something like that)

The novelty of train-riding did wear off a little
Finally, in the pouring rain, we arrived in Culpeper. And bid a fond farewell to our train.

Thus we enjoyed a couple warm April days in Orange, until Daddy came to drive us back to Gaithersburg. Here's on our customary pajama nature walk.

Visiting Pop-Pop
Daideo says Peter's pretty good at steering now. May he always love grass cutting so much!
Just a note on this John Deere tractor business: I know Sean/Daideo would say that he's not one who belongs on a tractor; he's not a country guy; he doesn't like yardwork; etc, etc. But in the eyes of these kids, Daideo is MR. John Deere, himself. That little tractor is an enthralling beast. And those tractor rides will surely be one of my boy's earliest and fondest memories.
Anna's turn
Spring glory.
