Below is the 2nd half of August, an eventful time for us. 2 separate posts will follow for notable events, the County Fair and the birth of Emery Taylor Trabandt. Here's another thing that happened in August:
She fell off the bottom stair or two. I didn't even realize she was hurt at first. But then she started falling down over and over. As she'd try to push herself back to standing, she'd fall on her face. I had to watch for a minute to identify what part wasn't working. Her right wrist. Even so, it couldn't possibly be broken... here she is using it shortly after the fall.
But yes. Pediatrician visit led to x-ray visit. The boy's patience deteriorating with every waiting room minute (and there were many of them that day.) We got word that the X-ray showed a break. It was a Friday around 5pm. Perfect. Nowhere to take her for a splint but the Urgent Care. Here we are there, around 9pm.
Headed home
Didn't seem to bother her much.
Eating was interesting, though.
Monday morning--time for a cast. She chose purple.
So there was that.
And then there was this character:
With the slain play-doh turtle
With one Martin injured, we decided Peter really needed to step up and contribute. Here he is earning his keep with chores and childcare.
The siblings
Saturday morning rough-housing with Daddy
I'd gotten a discount pass to a local kids gym. So fun. We were even able to do a few with Ninnu, who was quite pleased about it, as you see.
In case anyone's wondering, this is how we did playgrounds with a cast--a big sock with a rubber band.
Water painting. Cheap, and easy cleanup :)
And just like that, the 2 weeks was past; off with the cast. Here's our last cast shot.
What an experience with my girl. She was a champ through the whole sawing thing.
Here's the new arm!
