Out of August, Into September, Anna Starts School

Turns out a lot went on in August, or at least I there was a lot I felt the need to document. A lot of parks, a lot of goofing around...but really, I think I wanted to soak it all in as the summer drew to a close and we began to transition into a new year.

Here was our last summer playdate with Ninnu and Anvika

This great little park we found only at the end of the summer. It even had a water-proof little birdhouse-looking book box where you could donate/borrow a book. The kids thought they'd found buried treasure.

Here's a newsflash:

He's also good with scissors...

Sighted in our neighborhood:

Apparently the Red Line is extending its reach...

2 very different artists

Men's Wearhouse: I think I was last there when picking out tuxedos for my wedding.
And here I was again 7 years later fitting my big strapping boy for his ring-bearer duties at Aunt Gege's wedding.

His favorite part of the ordeal:

Meeting the Lotinsky girls. Anna's baby-holding dream come true. And Peter didn't mind either.

Easing our minds back into school at the CLS Ice Cream Social

All smiles after his PEP orientation, and thrilled with the complimentary backpack.

Anna's portrait. I don't remember the explanation of the purple heart/stomach...

 Finally, the day is here:
Anna's First Day of School

Peter wishes her well from the window

She wasn't much a fan of the photo op though

...but she hit the ground running once inside (parents stay for the first day)

Peter started a week later, so we took advantage of that last free day when the rest of the world was in school to hit up the Natural History Museum.

...and then we packed up and headed to VA for an amazing weekend of celebrating this marriage of these two...
