The day after Easter we headed up the PA turnpike to see our beloveds.
Here's a favorite. They were all smiling when we stuck Emery in and grabbed the camera, but somewhere in there, unbeknownst to us, Emery managed to spit up all over Peter. "C'mon--smile, Peter!" said we. His face says it all.
He was quite traumatized by it. Even just now, he saw this picture and said, "No, don't use that picture. I don't like it because Emery spit up on me!" I introduced the idea that sometimes things that aren't funny in the moment can seem funny later. He assured me that he will never think it's funny, not even in many many years.
The next day, we had a blast at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh
The Tapescape
I forget his name, but we were fast friends with this friendly neighborhood Dino
And on the way back, we hit the right place at the right time. (This is the driver seat of a fire truck.)
The next day, waiting eagerly with tickets up the Monogahala Incline
At the top! Hello, Pittsburgh!
Lunch at a diner for the whole gang.
and the coolest lunch ever!!!
These Martin kids.
Headed back down the Incline.
Later: Tired and entranced. And no idea where everyone's pants are. I guess this was the afternoon they dug in the dirt for a while...?
Playground our last morning; the three amigos.
