OUR TRIP AND ARRIVAL
We rolled out a little after 4am, kids still in their pjs. Of course no one went back to sleep on the road. So we made an early breakfast stop as dawn was breaking.
Time to get the wiggles out.
We hit town just before noon and hit the beach (since our house wasn't open yet) where the Trabandts were already camped out.

THE BIRTHDAY
We celebrated Anna's first birthday with a run to the famous Duck Donuts.
Her first sugar, and she was a fan.

We took turns with the camera on an obliging dune, in effort to give each other great family photos. I thought one of the families proved more photogenic/cooperative than the other.

This one was classic. And quite representative of Anna's attitude toward being held by anyone not her parent. Still waiting for that phase to pass.
