Springing and Easter

After picking Peter up from Preschool one day in late March, we took some spring photos goofing around under the cherry trees:

Lovin' on Lexel.

Here below is A) Playing dress-up with the same scarf I played in as a little girl.
B) That time Peter was quiet in the bathroom too long. Those are Daddy's socks.

We joined our neighbors Sasha and Ellie for an Easter-inspired-ish extravaganza at Butlers Orchard.

Good Friday:
(From The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones)

Good Friday and Easter were lovely, full of old and new friends, sober reflection, and joyous celebration that our suffering Savior is alive and victorious, covering our shame with his own and reconciling us to God.

But wasn't our best year for Easter photos. I gave it the old college try, both before and after worshiping at church. And here are our very best, happiest, best-composed:

Marchons!

Ok, I'm going to really try to speed along on our catchup here! Here's what March looked like:

Paint, books, and apparently the single best gift I ever gave Peter: Lightning McQueen slippers!!!

Here's my sweetie eating a snack.

A rare hot patch, and a very rare piece of running hand in hand.

After the playground

I took these on Peter's 3.5 birthday

My sweet big boy at 3 1/2

This little gem is a still frame from a video I took, in which a bee swooped through and caught Peter unawares. Tom was so good to isolate it for us.

In fact, it bore an eerie resemblance to this portrait later in the day.

A favorite game here: "Being Smushed," even better when they run ahead and surprise me.

Peter/Mommy date. Haircut ("dragon hair", as Peter calls it), yellow balloon, and ice cream.

...oh, and a night walk observing art.

So, this happened. To their credit, everyone tried it. (But all the leftovers they assigned to me.)

Inspired, we watched snail races on youTube after dinner.

it was intense.

Easter Eggs!

Easter Rice with the leftovers (thanks, Aunt Anne for that inspiration.)

Here's a funny one. Trying on the ergo and surprised it still fits.

Ahh, the rice.

Early Spring walks around the pond. Come on, summer!!!

We took a walk to mail some letters. We moved at the speed at which my littlest pine cone collector could scoop up every single pinecone she saw. It pretty much took us to the end of the month, but we did eventually mail the letters. If yours was really late this spring, well, there you go.
